Group Sales Manager

Position Summary

The Group Sales Manager is responsible for generating group room and catering revenue through proactive sales efforts, account management, and relationship building. This role focuses on identifying, qualifying, and soliciting new business while maintaining and growing existing accounts in order to maximize hotel profitability and achieve revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat group business through telemarketing, outside sales calls, site inspections, networking, and written communications.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, third-party meeting planners, and local organizations.

• Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and customized packages for group bookings.

• Work collaboratively with Revenue Management, Catering, and Operations teams to maximize revenues and guest satisfaction.

• Monitor and manage group room blocks, pickup, and attrition to ensure contract compliance.

• Track and report sales activities, revenue goals, and market trends.

• Attend trade shows, industry events, and client functions to promote the hotel and brand.

• Conduct site visits and client presentations to secure future business.

• Maintain knowledge of competitive set and local market trends to identify opportunities.

• Ensure all sales activities and client interactions align with HEI Hotels and Resorts standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

• Minimum 2–3 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in group sales.

• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.

• Strong negotiation, presentation, and networking skills.

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to various audiences.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with hotel sales systems (Delphi, Opera, or similar) preferred.
