We're seeking a Senior Android Automotive Engineer to design, architect, and implement next-generation In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. This role will shape the driving experience for Ford's groundbreaking EVs and has the potential to grow into an engineering management position.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a high-performing Android engineering team.

• Oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of Android Automotive IVI solutions.

• Collaborate with hardware, software, UX/UI, and QA teams to integrate Android systems into Ford's EV ecosystem.

• Define technical strategy and roadmap aligned with Ford's long-term EV goals.

• Manage project timelines, priorities, and resources to ensure on-time delivery.

• Champion best practices in software quality, security, and performance optimization.

• Stay ahead of trends in Android and automotive technology to drive innovation.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.

• 3+ years in Android Automotive application development.

• Proven experience leading engineering teams.

• Strong expertise in Android Automotive architecture, optimization, and IVI systems.

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.

• Experience collaborating across hardware, software, and UX/UI functions.

• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

• Experience with Android Automotive VHAL development.

• Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks (React, Flutter).

• Experience with CarPlay, Android Auto, or video streaming protocols (RTP, RTSP, H.264, H.265).

• Knowledge of automotive camera systems, ISPs, and safety displays.

• Understanding of automotive standards, regulations, and QA processes.
