Network Security Engineer

Job Overview

Ford's Extranet Engineering team develops and manages critical security technologies that protect our global network and enable secure remote work for more than 100,000 employees worldwide. The team designs and supports firewalls, VPN solutions, remote access services, virtual hosting platforms, and other perimeter security technologies.

This role offers the opportunity to research, test, and deploy new technologies-from next-generation firewall models to cloud-based security solutions-while providing advanced troubleshooting and consulting support to other Extranet teams.

What You'll Do

• Research, evaluate, and test new firewall and cloud technologies.

• Deploy and support enterprise security solutions across the Ford network.

• Perform code evaluations and continuous product testing.

• Provide 3rd/4th level troubleshooting for firewall, VPN, and remote access issues.

• Deliver consulting services for complex customer requirements.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to integrate solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall and VPN technologies.

• Strong knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, and security protocols.

• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communicator with cross-team collaboration experience.

Preferred: 5+ years in network/security engineering, certifications (CISSP, CCNP Security, PCNSE), and familiarity with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure).
